5. Analytics and advertising

We use two third-party tools to understand our audience and measure our advertising.

Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, tells us how many people visit the store, which pages and products they look at, which countries they come from, and where they arrived from. We use it in aggregate — it is not used to identify you personally. Google’s own privacy notice is at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

The Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., tells us which adverts led to visits and purchases, and allows us to show adverts on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited the store or looked at particular products. The Pixel records page views and actions such as adding to cart or completing a purchase, and matches them to a Meta account where one exists. Meta’s Privacy Policy is at facebook.com/privacy/policy, and you can control how your data is used for advertising in your Meta account’s Ad Preferences.

Both tools are loaded through cookies and similar technologies. Where the law requires consent — including in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom — they are only loaded after you give it, and you may withdraw consent at any time. See our Cookie Policy for the specific cookies involved and how to control them.

Under California law, using the Meta Pixel for targeted advertising may count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Section 10 explains how California residents can opt out.

6. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the following categories of recipient, and only as far as they need it:

  • Payment processors, to take payment and to screen for fraud. They act as independent controllers of card data and handle it under their own privacy policies.
  • Shipping carriers and fulfilment partners, who receive the name, address, telephone number and email needed to deliver your parcel, and customs information for international orders.
  • Our hosting and technology providers, who store the store’s data and keep it running.
  • Analytics and advertising providers — Google and Meta, as described in section 5.
  • Email and customer service providers, to send order confirmations, shipping notifications and any marketing you have asked for.
  • Professional advisers — accountants, auditors and lawyers — where they need it to advise us.
  • Public authorities, where we are legally required to disclose, or where disclosure is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
  • A buyer or successor, if we sell or reorganise the business. We would tell you before your information became subject to a different privacy policy.

We require everyone who processes personal information on our behalf to protect it, to use it only for the purpose we specify, and never for their own purposes.

7. International transfers

We operate from the United States, and our service providers are based in the United States and elsewhere. If you order from outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection law differs from that in your country.

Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards — normally the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, together with the UK Addendum where the UK GDPR applies. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards we use by emailing info@yabadri.com.

8. How long we keep it

Information Retention period
Order and transaction records 7 years from the end of the tax year in which the order was placed, to meet accounting and tax obligations
Account details and wishlist Until you close your account, or after 3 years of inactivity
Customer service correspondence 3 years from the last contact
Marketing preferences Until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record kept indefinitely so we do not email you again by mistake
Reviews and product questions Until you ask us to remove them
Analytics data Up to 14 months in aggregated form
Server and security logs 12 months

When a retention period ends we delete the information or irreversibly anonymise it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access — a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — to have inaccurate or incomplete information put right.
  • Deletion — to have your information erased, where we have no overriding reason to keep it.
  • Objection — to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to object to direct marketing at any time.
  • Restriction — to ask us to pause processing while a concern is resolved.
  • Portability — to receive the information you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format, or to have it sent to another provider.
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, where we rely on consent. This does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these, email info@yabadri.com. We may ask for information to verify your identity before we act — this protects you. Our service is free, and we respond within 30 days. If a request is unusually complex we may extend that by a further 60 days and will tell you if so.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

10. California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to request deletion, to request correction, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information listed in section 2 and disclosed them to the categories of recipient listed in section 6, for the business purposes listed in section 4.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. As noted in section 5, our use of the Meta Pixel may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. To opt out, decline or withdraw consent for marketing cookies through our Cookie Policy, or email info@yabadri.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”. We honour Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser as a valid opt-out request.

You may use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf, provided you give them written permission and we can verify it.

11. Marketing

We send marketing emails only to people who have asked for them. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also email info@yabadri.com at any time. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately.

Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages — order confirmations, shipping notifications, and replies to your questions — because we need those to fulfil your order.

12. Security

The store runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor and never pass through our servers. Access to customer data is limited to people who need it to do their job, passwords are stored hashed, and we keep our platform and software patched.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.

13. Children

This store is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email info@yabadri.com and we will delete it.

14. Automated decision-making

We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means alone. Automated fraud screening by our payment processor may flag a transaction for review, but a person decides whether to cancel an order, and you can always contact us to contest the outcome.

15. Third-party links

This store links to other websites and embeds content such as social media feeds. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them personal information.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The “last updated” date at the top shows when the current version took effect. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you by email or by a prominent notice on the store before it takes effect.
